The Zippo was specifically developed for Taj Burrow and the Surfing Life Tech board test.
Pure and simply the Zippo was built for high performance surfing in mind.
Based of Taj’s ideal day-to-day shortboard specs, The Zippo is performance oriented but forgiving enough for all surfers to excel with it under their feet. The Zippo features a combination of the best, most effective characteristics from two of our original favourite high-performance shapes (The Donny and The Grinder).
The nose entry is medium to lower for performance design, with a slightly pulled in tail that features an increased tail rocker. This results in a lively, responsive board that favours critical rail-to-rail surfing and will allow this kind of surfing in average to excellent conditions.
This increased tail rocker is perfectly balanced with a solid single concave running from nose to tail, shallower towards the nose and deep into the last third between the feet and fins, providing the Zippo with plenty of drive.
The rail is a slightly softer, boxier rail to compensate for the aggressive concave and tail rocker, giving the Zippo a perfect blend of forgiveness, balance and performance. The Zippo is built for critical surfing in all types and conditions.
Developed with the needs of one of the worlds best surfers in mind – the Zippo is a lively, drivey, smooth performance shortboard.
All our boards our hand crafted on site, we can make you anything from our range specific to you. How you surf, where you surf and where you want to take your surfing are some of the things to consider when ordering a new board.
From there, you can also get involved in the fun choices like colour options with sprays, tints and pigments, glassing layups and all the finer details like the different types of stringer you could go for. Our staff are always at hand to guide you through everything.
HOW TO ORDER:
Click the CUSTOM ORDER tab at the top of the page (If you're not on the board page already) there you will find all the brands and models available to order. With each model you'll find a number variations which you can use as a guide to get a visual idea and a cost (we'll be adding to these over the next few weeks or so). Click on the board closest to what you want (i.e. Twin Pin, one sided tint with future boxes).
Click the PRE-ORDER button to order the board and add any additions or changes in the ORDER NOTE section ( e.g colours, glassing lay-ups, stringer options or any additional details or questions). We will be in contact to go over all the details and make sure everything is 100% before we build your board.
Of course if you prefer, simply give us a call and we can go through your whole order and take a payment over the phone.
How Long?
Clear boards are currently 2-3 weeks, Tints and more detailed boards 4-6 weeks.
