The Dancing Barefoot 67 "Aussie Log" designed and shaped by Phil Myers, is as close to the real deal as you're going to get! This beautiful volan glassed paulownia double stinger, was designed to replicate the boards that were pushing performance levels during the golden era of surfing in Australia in the late sixties.
It's a quintessential Australian design in every way, the outline, the bottom, the roll the rocker, everything. Based off similar concepts from shapers such as Keith Paul, Ken Adler, Midget and Bob Mctavish.
The bottom design, "the rolled bottom" was typical of the performance boards of that time. This one has a gradual roll through-out the board, punctuated about three quarters of the way down (where you stand) and eased off through the tail. The rails are very pinched which was the trend at that time. Very different from the modern Longboards of today with little roll and fatter rails.
The boards initially are a little difficult to ride but with time to master them, they will do alot more than most board of that era.
The boards are a limited edition with Phil shaping only twelve for us here. Get on one soon!
All our boards our hand crafted on site, we can make you anything from our range specific to you. How you surf, where you surf and where you want to take your surfing are some of the things to consider when ordering a new board.
From there, you can also get involved in the fun choices like colour options with sprays, tints and pigments, glassing layups and all the finer details like the different types of stringer you could go for. Our staff are always at hand to guide you through everything.
