About the board

The Shiitake HP A slimmed down high performance version of the original shiitake for those guys that want more of an everyday board and don't want a midlength while still maintaining all that speed and flow.  We have made a few changes other than just the dimensions and foil. The biggest adjustment is the concave in the entry of the board, we took out the vee and put in single concave which helps give lift and quicker get up and go on the take off. This gives more of a shortboard feel.

This board is still designed to be ridden with some length but is very customizable, So for example im 5'11 158Lbs and  i ride a 5'10 LRS for my regular shortboard but for this model i would go  between 5'11 and 6'2 depending on the feel i'm after and the waves i'm riding. The longer you go the smoother and and more drawn out its going to feel. This board also holds pretty good in some bigger waves. It's sweet spot seems to be shoulder high to double over head.

This is designed to be surfed as a twinzer!

Stock boards have glassed lighter to keep the weight down (4x4x4) with an extra patch on the tail to strengthen. 

How we built it

This one has a standard shortboard glass job to keep it light, but an extra patch in the tail.

Custom Orders

All our boards our hand crafted on site, we can make you anything from our range specific to you.  How you surf, where you surf and where you want to take your surfing are some of the things to consider when ordering a new board. 

From there, you can also get involved in the fun choices like colour options with sprays, tints and pigments, glassing layups and all the finer details like the different types of stringer you could go for.  Our staff are always at hand to guide you through everything.

HOW TO ORDER:

Click the CUSTOM ORDER tab at the top of the page (If you're not on the board page already) there you will find all the brands and models available to order.  With each model you'll find a number variations which you can use as a guide to get a visual idea and a cost (we'll be adding to these over the next few weeks or so).  Click on the board closest to what you want (i.e. Twin Pin, one sided tint with future boxes).

Click the PRE-ORDER button to order the board and add any additions or changes in the ORDER NOTE section ( e.g colours, glassing lay-ups, stringer options or any additional details or questions).  We will be in contact to go over all the details and make sure everything is 100% before we build your board.

Of course if you prefer, simply give us a call and we can go through your whole order and take a payment over the phone.

How Long?

Clear boards are currently 2-3 weeks, Tints and more detailed boards 4-6 weeks.
